HOW TO MAKE NEW FRIENDS The Carters show how to use candor and self-deprecating stories to break down walls. Jimmy Carter tells one on himself -  about his wild ride on a runaway camel in Egypt.. Rosalynn Carter reveals a surprising secret of her own.  Russell Baker, the wry host of TV's Masterpiece Theatre, is a master of when to use humor in conversation, and when you shouldn't.

BECOME YOUR CHILDREN'S MENTOR  Bill Moyers believes its essential for parents to become mentors to their children, making them feel important. Beverly Sills talks about introducing kids  to opera. Jack Nicklaus describes the advantages of teaching your sons and daughters to play golf and the best starting ages.. Mickey Mantle pays homage to his dad for teaching him to be a switch hitter.

THE ART OF CONVERSATION   Many people feel uncomfortable making small talk and meeting new people. But Dick Cavett has some ways of breaking the ice with style. Mortimer Adler stresses the importance of listening before you talk..

ON WRITING WELL    Let Robert Ludlum, author of the world's great thrillers, and Frances Mayes, author of the all-time New York Times Best Seller - Under the Tuscan Sun,  introduce you to the pleasures of writing - and  the skill of getting people to read what you write.

Dr. Richard Bimler, President, Wheat  Ridge      Ministries - an independent non-profit Lutheran organization

"'Reinvent Yourself' is a creative and unique collection of real
stories of real people who live real lives...in a real world of hurts
and hoorays! The genius of this resource is that the reader will
recognize many of these individuals who open up and share their heart-felt
journeys where they have ‘re-invented’ themselves. These stories are wonderful
models of mentors who have been placed all through our own lives. And the
beauty of these reflections is that these personalities are not only telling
of their own "successes", but even more importantly, of their struggles and
failures as well. They model what it means to live life to the fullest,
to accept and use our own gifts, and to affirm and encourage the
people around us, who have their own stories to tell. "In pulling these
life-stories together, author Hal Gieseking has reinvented
himself by allowing the reader - you and me - to reinvent ourselves by
sharing the gifts we have with those around us.  And from a faith-perspective,
this book is really all about how our Lord enables us to "reinvent" ourselves
each day, as we live in forgiveness and give our lives away in service to others.
"Have fun reading these real-life stories and advice, and in the process,
go out and reinvent yourself."

Deborah W. Roker, Director of Corporate  Communications,  Sonesta Hotels, Resorts

I bought your book and I love it – congratulations on a great read – an inspiring one, too!

OAG Frequent Flyer magazine, review by Jack McGuire

It's OK to read writer Hal Gieseking's Reinvent Yourself  in short takes, waiting for a flight, or in the air - the author even encourages it. "Turn to the chapters or subjects that interest      you or that you believe could help you solve a problem," he suggests. It's a quick read, only 166 pages in the paperback version, or in an eBook format, if you prefer.

What you get is life-coping skills that worked for a slew of well-known personalities, related in interviews conducted       by the well-traveled Gieseking during his trips across the   world. Formerly travel correspondent for the CBS Morning News, consumer editor of Travel Holiday magazine, and past    president of the Society of American Travel Writers,  Gieseking recounts conversations with such luminaries as       TV journalist Bill Moyers, golfing great Jack Nicklaus, Jimmy and Rosalynn   Carter, author James Michener, opera star Beverly Sills, Walter Cronkite, and a galaxy of other successful people.

After each interview, covering a diverse range of subjects        such as getting a job, organizing yourself, making friends, talking and listening, learning to lead, working with others, getting promoted, Gieseking applies insights gained from the dignitaries' views with his own commentary. At the end of    each chapter suggestions on how to apply the words of wisdom include things to think about, actions to take, and words to consider in reinventing yourself.
